Wilderness

Wilderness Festival was the first weekend of August this year.

It had too much fun and barely picked up my camera - I took a few to finish off a film and left it at that.

We were lucky to have mostly warm weather and swam in the lake every day- along with everyone else.

Wilderness has such a great combination of music, comedy, activities and everything in-between.

I can’t wait to go back next year.

Tunes on the Sands

In early July we spent a long weekend in South Devon at Tunes on the Sands Festival. It was a great weekend and these are the product of some slightly inebriated film shooting.

The festival was at the beautiful Blackpool Sands beach which is truly breathtaking.

These Photos were taken on my trust Canon SureShot. It is a great pocket sized film camera that I bought second hand. Although the quality isn’t the best it is really handy and I like the style when shooting in a casual setting.

The weather was kind which resulted in some fabulous sunsets

Such a great weekend - roll on next year.

Balearics

Another beautiful few days spent in the North of Mallorca and a full roll of film. These are just a few of my faves shot on a vintage Canon SureShot with a Kodak colour 35mm film.

Our beautiful Air b n b had three terraces - playing hide and seek here with my sister.

I recently saw some photographs taken on a bubblegum film so played around with editing these few to see if I could emulate it.

This trip was taken quite early in the season so we were not blessed with the best weather. A few over cast mornings were a great excuse for exploring.

Amsterdam Weekend

A few weeks a go I spent a long weekend in Amsterdam with some friends. We had really beautiful weather and I was shooting with a new (to me) Canon SureShot. I was pleased with how lots of the photographs came out, so I have left them unedited - unheard of for me.

Our Amsterdam Round-Up

  • The botanical gardens are a must; Besides the plants there were some beautiful butterflies.

  • The most delicious fries I have ever eaten were had here - non-negotiable.

  • Anne Frank’s House is poignant and difficult to visit but you definitely should- make sure you book online first.

  • A’DAM Lookout was great fun, if slightly terrifying, and an amazing way to see the city.

  • Our favourite lunch was at The Grasshopper - it doesn’t look much but the location is fantastic and the food was yummy too.

  • While we visited there was a Rembrandt exhibition on at the Rijksmuseum but there is so much to see here anyway that it is worth a visit.

  • We walked everywhere; the city is so small that it is best to see everything on foot or, if you’re feeling brave, rent a bike!

Vitamin Sea

Today I am sharing some photographs from an old film. These were taken on a boat trip in the med last summer. This was the first film I took with my Canon EOS 500 which was bought in a charity shop and works perfectly (just a little reminder to keep hunting for treasure).

Mediterranean Mandarin

In January I spent a long weekend in Palma, Mallorca.

The weather was balmier, the bath in our hotel room was enormous and the food was never-ending. I was so relaxed I barely picked up a camera… these few made it back home.

These photos were taken on a Canon M10 - a powerful pocket camera that connects to your phone. It is super easy to use and the Creative Assist Function is superb.
