A few songs to put a spring in your step…
A little while a go I spent a drizzly, long weekend in South Devon. We explored the beaches, Dartmoor National Park and some local restaurants - all to the great pleasure of our four-legged friend.
We arrived on late on Friday night in a howling gale and rushed straight to bed. This meant we could get up first thing on Saturday for exploring.
South Milton Sands was the perfect place for a long walk to work up an appetite.
That evening we went for dinner at The Old Bakery in Kingsbridge.
I eat a mostly plant based diet but my boyfriend eats everything - so this kind of restaurant is perfect for us. The Old Bakery is great for Vegan options and it meant we could share some dishes.
I loved our dinner here and the Espresso Martinis went down particularly well with pudding.
The next morning was a quick (not so photogenic) breakfast at home and out again, not letting the weather slow us down.
We walked in Dartmoor National Park - it is enormous and there are routes for all levels of walking.
The one we chose was perfect for more delicate paws.
After working up an appetite we headed to The Cove for lunch.
This is one of the best Vegan burgers I have ever had - and my friend thought it looked quite delicious also.
I cannot fault this place - the staff are amazing and it is open all year round!
After a nasty turn in the weather we retreated home and set up a cosy cinema for the evening.
On our final morning we popped into Salcombe for a snoop and the sun even joined us.
We rounded off the weekend with tea at the Buckland Tout-Saints Hotel.
This is an amazing spot for Vegans as they will make you a full afternoon tea if you book in advance. They let pooches join you too - what is not to love?
We bundled into the car, fully and happy, and I snoozed most of the way home (oops)!
